Mario Kart 64

Mario Kart 64

Mario Kart 64 is a fun racing game where you can choose characters from the Super Mario franchise to race in karts. The game introduces a weapon-based system that allows you to hinder your opponents and gain an advantage. It also features expanded gameplay elements such as Mini-Turbo boosts from drifting and support for up to four players.

In Mario Kart 64, you can select one of eight Mario characters and race on various tracks with different shapes and themes. During the race, you can pick up items from special boxes placed on the track. These items can be used to attack your opponents and slow them down or give you a temporary speed boost and improved jumping ability. Unlike the previous game, you can now carry more than one item at a time.

How to play

Grand Prix: This is the main mode where you can race against computer-controlled opponents in four cups: Mushroom Cup, Flower Cup, Star Cup, and Special Cup. Each cup has four races, and you can choose from three difficulty settings: 50cc, 100cc, and 150cc. The higher the engine size, the faster the races. You earn points based on your ranking in each race, and at the end of the cup, you can receive a trophy based on your performance.

Time Trial: In this mode, you race against the clock to set the fastest time on a track. You can challenge your own records by racing against a ghost representation of your previous best time.

Versus: This mode allows two or more players to race against each other on selected tracks. Points are awarded to the winner of each race, but there is no set number of races or significance to the points.

Battle: Battle mode is a competitive mode where players fight each other in arenas instead of racing. Each player starts with three balloons, and they lose a balloon when hit by an item or if they fall off-track. If a player loses all balloons, they become a Mini Bomb Kart. The last surviving player wins the round.
